Hakuou no Sono (White Garden)

Yesterday I was surfing the net and I came across the title 'White Garden'. I've remembered it was a story I had started a month ago and haven't finished yet. So I did it yesterday :P As there is nothing new at MF and mangareader, some words about this manga.

It's not a manga you would remember to the end of your life and call it your favourite. But it is funny, easy to read, short and original story. Shirotae is beautiful and charismatic girl. She is loved by everyone while she isn't really concerned people and relations with them. After a certain accident at school, she moves to a boarding school where her uncle is a director. It turns out, she would be there a 'princess'. A special student with special privileges and duties...

There are 3 more important characters excepting Shirotae. There's Nanaka with puppy-like attitude, Tachibana - typical serious glasses-eyed type and, in some way similar to Shirotae, Kusaka. However, no one of them is as interesting as Shirotae.  I can't recall any other girl in manga who was as arrogant, lazy, noncaring and at the same time lovable. Her attitude is shown in every her word, pose, gesture, face. It's really exceptional. The truth is, I continued reading just for her :)

 Storyline isn't much complicated. We watch Shirotae fighting with her position and meantime getting new friends. Tachibana is able to do anything to make her doing her duties. There are people who can't accept her. And Shirotae... is trying anything to make herself a normal student again. As there are 8 chapters only, you won't get even bored by it.

I like the art. Lines are elegant and clear. Bacgrounds give you a feeling of never-ending wind and gold afternoons. Sometimes, people are drawn neglectfully but whole impression is quite positive.

To sum up: if you are fed up with average shoujo girls you may give this title a try. If you have some spare time, pick this up too. Yet, if you don't do it, you'd probably won't regret.

BTW, Manga was translated by Aerandira, so it has their recruitment page from Hana Kimi (if I recognized correctly). It brings back memories *_*

Anyway! I've checked katscans blog. She wrote there had been a release of  a magazine where 'the one' is published on Monday. She said in a week time there should be 70th chap of 'the one' ^^ Well...  not like the story is fascinating right now.. still episode with kidnapping must end before we get more Lele & Yin together.


And one more thing. You know latest Christina Aguilera hit 'you lost me'? I love this girl and adore this song from the very first time listening to them. The one who helped her with writing this masterpiece was Sia - an Australian singer. She have done a great piece of music with zero7 before. But her own songs are nice too.
